All You Need To Know About Craig Robinson’s Wife Kelly Mccrum
Kelly McCrum is best known as the wife of basketball executive and former coach Craig Robinson. That marriage also makes her the sister-in-law of former First Lady Michelle Obama. Yet her story is not limited to a famous family link. She worked in higher education and later became part of a public dispute about her children’s school.
She has never tried to build a celebrity career. Most public interest in her comes from her marriage, the Robinson family, White House-era appearances, and the 2022 lawsuit against University School of Milwaukee.
Who Is Kelly McCrum?
She is an American former education administrator who married Craig Robinson in 2006. Craig is Michelle Obama’s older brother, a former Princeton University basketball star, a former college coach, and the executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Reliable profiles describe her as a New Jersey native and a former Brown University education administrator. Public sources give far less detail about her early years than they do about her husband.
Her Early Days and Education
Kelly grew up in New Jersey. She has kept her exact birth date, her parents’ names, and most childhood details outside the public record. This privacy has led some biography sites to repeat details that are hard to verify.
There is stronger evidence for her academic background. A Monmouth University alumni publication lists her with an M.S.E. and places her in the class of 1989. This is firmer evidence than online claims that assign her an unverified degree in marketing or communications.
Her later work also points to a strong link with education. Established profiles identify her as a former education administrator at Brown University. This work gave her a professional identity of her own before her family connection drew wider attention.
Her Career Before the Public Spotlight
Before her name became tied to national politics, she had a career in education. Brown University is the institution most often linked to that work. Public profiles do not provide a full job history, salary record, or list of every post she held.
Some online biographies describe her as an advertising or marketing executive in Chicago. Strong primary reporting for that claim is limited. Her best-supported public career record is in college admissions and education administration.
That distinction matters. Many celebrity profiles mix confirmed facts with recycled claims. In her case, a shorter and well-sourced career record is more useful than an impressive title that cannot be traced to a dependable source.
Her professional background also helps explain why education later became such an important public issue for the Robinson family. When concerns arose around her sons’ schooling, she became directly involved in raising those issues.
How Kelly McCrum Met Craig Robinson?
The couple met in 2001 on the night of the NCAA March Madness Final Four. At the time, Craig was building a new chapter of his career after leaving the finance world for basketball coaching.
Their relationship continued for several years. They married in 2006, the same year Craig became head men’s basketball coach at Brown University. He coached there for two seasons before moving to Oregon State University in 2008.
Craig has spoken warmly about how his family received his second marriage. In his book A Game of Character, he recalled the happy response from his mother, Marian Robinson, and his sister Michelle when the relationship became serious.
Their marriage also brought Kelly into a blended household. Craig already had children from his first marriage, while the couple later welcomed two sons together.
Her Marriage and Children
Craig has four children. His older children, Avery Robinson and Leslie Robinson, are from his first marriage. He and his second wife later welcomed Austin Robinson in 2010 and Aaron Robinson in 2012.
A Monmouth alumni publication also recorded Austin’s birth in January 2010. The notice linked the family to Craig’s role as head coach at Oregon State at the time.
The family has appeared together at basketball games and other major events. In 2013, ABC News reported that Craig’s wife and young son joined Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Malia, Sasha, and Marian Robinson at a Maryland versus Oregon State basketball game.
Leslie also followed the Robinson family’s basketball tradition. She played at Princeton and was later drafted into the WNBA. Despite these public links, the family has kept much of its normal home life away from constant media coverage.
Her Connection to Michelle Obama and the White House Years
Marriage placed her inside a family with an unusual level of public attention. Craig is Michelle Obama’s only brother. During Barack Obama’s presidency, even family gatherings could draw national media coverage.
She was photographed with Craig at the White House State Dinner held for Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on August 2, 2016. The appearance is one of the better-known public images of the couple from the Obama White House years.
Her place in the family also connects her to former President Barack Obama, as well as Malia Obama and Sasha Obama. Marian Robinson remained an important family figure until her death in May 2024.
Yet this visibility did not make Craig’s wife a political officeholder or campaign professional. Her public role was mainly that of a close family member. Some online biographies go further, but clear evidence for a formal political position is limited.
Her School Dispute and Public Advocacy
Her biggest period of independent national media attention came from a dispute with University School of Milwaukee, a private school attended by her sons. Craig and his wife said they raised concerns about racial and socioeconomic stereotypes they noticed while their children were learning from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The school later declined to re-enroll the boys for the 2021–2022 school year. The parents argued that this was retaliation for raising their concerns. School officials denied that claim. They said the enrollment decision concerned the parents’ communications with teachers and administrators.
The couple filed a lawsuit in 2022. The dispute gained national attention and led to television interviews in which the parents explained their concerns about the school and its treatment of their family.
The legal case continued until 2024. In November of that year, it was dismissed with prejudice after both sides resolved the dispute. Settlement terms were not made public. Their joint statement described the Robinson children as model students and expressed regret that the disagreement ended their time at the school.
What Is Kelly McCrum Doing Now?
She keeps a lower public profile than her husband and sister-in-law. Current public sources do not show a regular television role or a verified executive credit on the IMO podcast.
Craig Robinson and Michelle Obama launched IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson through Higher Ground in March 2025. The show remains active in 2026. Official podcast pages list Michelle and Craig as hosts and Higher Ground as the creator.
She remains part of the family around the show, but that is not the same as holding a confirmed production job. Claims that she runs sponsorships, public relations, or editorial strategy for the podcast should not be stated as fact without a reliable public credit.
Her public life today appears far more family-centered. She has not developed the type of constant media presence associated with Michelle or Craig. That privacy has remained a steady part of her public image.
Her Net Worth and Financial Picture
There is no reliable public audit of her personal net worth. Figures such as $3 million to $5 million for the household appear on biography sites, but they remain estimates rather than verified financial facts.
Craig has worked across finance, college basketball, NBA front offices, and sports administration. His career has included Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Loop Capital Markets, Brown University, Oregon State, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the New York Knicks.
He became executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches in July 2020 and still holds the position in 2026. He also co-hosts IMO with his sister. These roles form part of the family’s current professional income picture.
Still, public salary data, investments, property values, and private media earnings are not complete enough to support a precise household net worth. A range can be mentioned as an online estimate, but it should not be presented as confirmed wealth.
Bottom Words
The strongest parts of her public story are clear. She built a career in higher education, married Craig Robinson in 2006, became part of a blended family, and later spoke publicly during a serious dispute about her sons’ education.
She is linked to one of America’s best-known political families, but she has kept much of her own life private. A careful biography should respect that line and focus on facts that can be supported rather than filling gaps with guesses.

Sam Holland grew up beside cameras, scripts, and a brother whose acting career became a worldwide event. Yet he chose a different workplace. His stage has stainless-steel counters, hot pans, and recipes tested until they work.
Best known at first as Tom Holland’s younger brother, Sam is now a trained British chef, digital food creator, and cookbook author. He studied professional cooking in London, worked inside respected British kitchens, and built an online audience through practical food rather than celebrity gossip.

The Holland name opened a few doors. Sam still had to prove that he belonged in the kitchen. Public film records give Sam’s birth date as February 14, 1999, and identify Kingston upon Thames as his birthplace. He shares both details with his twin brother, Harry.
Who Is Sam Holland?
Sam Holland is a British chef who creates approachable recipes for young and inexperienced home cooks. His work now includes cooking videos, live food events, brand projects, and a published cookbook.
He is the second-youngest member of the four Holland brothers. Tom is the eldest, followed by twins Sam and Harry, while Paddy is the youngest. Their parents are Dominic Holland, a comedian and author, and Nikki Holland, a professional photographer.
Being related to a major film star brought public attention early. But attention is not the same thing as a career. Sam found his direction through food, then spent years learning the less photogenic parts of the trade: preparation, timing, repetition, cleaning, and long shifts.
He’s Growing Up in the Holland Family
The Holland brothers were raised in and around Kingston upon Thames in southwest London. Their home mixed ordinary family routines with creative work. Dominic wrote and performed comedy, while Nikki handled photography projects.
Tom’s acting career changed the family’s public profile. His lead role in The Impossible and later casting as Spider-Man drew reporters toward his parents and brothers. Suddenly, family photos and childhood stories had an audience far beyond Kingston.
Still, the brothers remained closely connected. Tom pursued acting, Harry moved toward filmmaking, and Paddy also developed screen credits. Sam’s interest kept returning to meals and the way food could hold a family gathering together.
The family later turned Tom’s reach into charitable work through The Brothers Trust, founded by Dominic and Nikki in 2017 with the support of all four sons.
His Love of Cooking
Sam has credited his grandmother, known in the family as Granny Tess, with shaping his early view of food. He watched her prepare meals and saw cooking as an act of care, not merely a technical skill.
That influence stayed with him. His food often leans toward meals people can share at home: roast dinners, pasta, hearty sauces, baked dishes, and simple comfort food.
As boys, Sam and Harry even launched a small baking business called The Twin Bakers. They made brownies and soda bread, then sold them from door to door.
The operation ended for a painfully believable reason. The twins became worried that parents of school friends might answer. Ambition met teenage embarrassment, and embarrassment won.
Yet the idea behind it survived. Sam enjoyed making food for others, and he was willing to turn that interest into work.
Why Sam Holland Chose Culinary Training?
Sam did not move straight from school into a settled career. He spent time at university before deciding that the route did not suit him.
He later trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine, a respected culinary school in London. There, casual interest became structured study. Students learn knife skills, timing, sauces, baking methods, ingredient handling, and the discipline required in a professional kitchen.
Sam has described his period at Leiths in strongly positive terms. The school later featured him as a graduate who had moved from formal training into restaurant work and cookbook publishing.
Leaving university could have looked like a backward step. In practice, it placed him in an environment that matched his strengths.
His Restaurant Work at Gleneagles and Chez Bruce
After his culinary studies, Sam gained experience at Gleneagles, the luxury Scottish hotel and resort. He later worked at Chez Bruce, a Michelin-starred restaurant in London.
These were not decorative names added to a social media biography. Professional kitchens demand speed, consistency, and close attention to detail. A cook may repeat the same preparation dozens of times, then return the next day and do it again.
Sam has said his training gave him a base in classical French cooking. His own style also draws from British family meals and the food he encounters while travelling.
That combination explains much of his public cooking. The methods can be formal, but the final dishes rarely feel distant. He tends to make food that belongs on a home table rather than behind a velvet rope.
He’s Cooking for Tom Holland During Spider-Man
Sam’s culinary career crossed Tom’s film work in 2019. While Tom was working on the second Spider-Man film, the studio offered to provide him with a chef. Tom asked for Sam instead. His younger brother then lived with him and prepared meals during the production period.
Tom later described the arrangement during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, saying Sam cooked for them each day.
It was a useful job for both brothers. Tom received reliable meals during a demanding shoot. Sam gained experience planning food around irregular schedules, long working days, and individual preferences.
Years later, that kitchen connection continued. Sam shared recipes with Tom, who used some of the vegetarian dishes while cooking for Zendaya.
He’s From Professional Kitchens to Social Media
Restaurant work taught Sam technique. Social media taught him how to explain it. His cooking videos focus on clear steps and familiar ingredients. Instead of presenting every meal as a grand event, he often shows viewers how to make useful food without turning the kitchen into a disaster zone.
His official profile describes him simply as a chef, creator, and “average golfer.” The last part is a small joke, but it also signals the tone of his platform. He does not present himself as an untouchable celebrity chef.
The Holland connection certainly helped people find his page. Sam then had to give them a reason to stay. Recipes did that.
His audience includes students, first-time renters, young workers, and people who know they should cook but would rather not face a recipe with 27 ingredients and three specialist pans.
Sam Holland’s Kitchen Kickstart
Sam published his debut cookbook, Sam Holland’s Kitchen Kickstart, in August 2025. The book was designed for beginner cooks, especially people leaving home or entering university. It offers simple and affordable recipes alongside basic advice on shopping, meal planning, storing food, freezing leftovers, and working in a small kitchen.
Penguin described the book as a practical guide for start-out cooks. Its recipes include quick curries, pasta dishes, breakfast food, tacos, sauces, and homemade alternatives to common takeaways.
The hardback runs to 224 pages. Rather than pretending readers already understand kitchen language, Sam explains the starting points.
Tom publicly promoted the release and said he had been making recipes from it. He singled out the achievement with the pride of an older brother, while Sam’s own promotional work kept the focus on helping nervous cooks gain confidence.
His Bond With Tom Holland
Public interest often frames Sam through Tom, but their relationship appears less dramatic than the headlines suggest. They support each other’s work and remain part of a tightly connected family.
Tom gave Sam a valuable early opportunity by hiring him during a film shoot. Sam later helped Tom with recipes. Tom then used his large platform to promote Sam’s cookbook.
It is a useful exchange, though not an equal one in terms of fame. Tom’s public reach is enormous. Sam has never tried to compete with it. He has instead built a profession that works beside the family name without copying his brother’s career.
Their connection also extends to The Brothers Trust. Tom acts as its main public figure, while Sam, Harry, Paddy, and their parents support events and fundraising projects.
Sam Holland and Clark Stewart
Sam’s private life became a larger public story in June 2026 when he announced his engagement to Clark Stewart.
The couple shared the news on June 18. Sam had proposed two days earlier during a trip to Scotland, and photographs from the celebration showed them at Gleneagles.
The setting carried a personal connection. Gleneagles was one of the places where Sam had worked while developing his professional cooking experience.
Clark had also helped test recipes during the creation of his first cookbook, along with members of the Holland family and other people close to him.
Sam does not build his food platform around his relationship. Most of his public content still centres on recipes, travel, family appearances, and the occasional round of golf.
Their Charity Work
The Holland family launched The Brothers Trust to direct public attention toward smaller charities that might otherwise struggle for coverage.
Nikki and Dominic founded the organisation in 2017. Tom became its main fundraising draw, while his brothers supported campaigns, videos, events, and charity partnerships.
Sam’s involvement fits naturally with the family structure. Each brother contributes in a different way, and the organisation uses their combined audience to raise money rather than forming a separate celebrity foundation for each person.
The Trust has supported projects connected with children, health, education, and vulnerable communities. Its official material describes Tom as the focal point but makes clear that Sam, Harry, and Paddy remain involved.
Where Is Sam Holland Now?
By 2026, Sam had become more than a familiar face in Holland family photographs. He was a trained chef with luxury hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant experience, an established food creator, and the author of his first cookbook.
He still benefits from being Tom Holland’s brother. Denying that would be silly. But a famous surname cannot teach knife control, survive a restaurant shift, or produce a cookbook that readers can actually use.
Sam’s career rests on a quieter kind of progress. He left a university path that felt wrong, trained professionally, worked behind kitchen doors, and learned how to explain cooking to beginners.
His first book captured that purpose in practical form: 224 pages built for people facing an empty fridge, a small budget, and perhaps their first saucepan.
